Sugar-Free Sno-cone and Shaved Ice Syrup-4/32oz Set

Taste terrible!
As a new low-carb dieter, I was hoping for decent-tasting syrups so I could continue to use my shaved ice machine. These are the worst-tasting syrups I've ever tried.

Sugar-Free Snow Cone Syrup Kit
We have not set-up our snow come machine to use the syrup. It was at a great price and should be a hit once we get the equipment set-up for the school's student incentive program.

Sugar free...no mistaking that...
I was hoping that this stuff would taste better than it does. It has a pretty strong after taste. I tried mixing it half and half with the full sugar syrup and it was a little better. I really wish there was a sugar free syrup made with agave or something that didn't have that bitter after taste. What are ya gonna do?

Great Northern Popcorn Red Princeton 8 oz Ounce Bar Style Antique Popcorn Machine

I have owned the Princeton for 2 years, and, except for a faulty kettle, which Discount Tommy quickly took care of by sending me a replacement kettle, I have had no problems whatsoever. In fact, one of the glass doors got broken during the warranty period, and Discount Tommy was good enough to send me a replacement!

The machine works as advertised, but you must take the time to let the kettle heat the oil up to get the best results. The 3 switches make for great control, and save useless wear and tear when you only need to heat the oil. This popper si a great value for the price!

Princeton Popcorn Popper
I bought this popper because I wanted "more authentic movie theater style popcorn" than microwave popcorn. This product has exceeded all my expectations. It is a very sturdy machine, and significantly less expensive than comparable poppers. It was originally intended solely for home use, but the kids had a blast selling popcorn at our neighborhood garage sale. We were popping batch after batch and the Princeton Popper performed like a champ. Its real nice having the 8 oz capacity so you can pop larger batches. The heat lamp works great at keeping the pop corn warm and crisp.

I purchased the Great Northern Popcorn machine for our concession stand, the machine performed very well and kept up with the long lines for the hot buttery popcorn. Everyone was pleased most of all us since we had the "ONLY" Popcorn machine at the event. Still running strong after 3 years, we use it for football game, and at home in the off season!! Waring WT400 Professional 4-Slice Toaster, Brushed Stainless Steel

Double the Quality but not Double the Price of comparable toasters
This was purchased at a local department store, and as I was comparing this toaster to others in similar price ranges: Oster, Black and Decker, I needed to find a specific aspect of the Waring Pro WT400 that justified the most expensive price tag there. There needed to be something that could be picked out on the display models that said to me: "this is the better one at least because...". I would not have bought it otherwise.

So as I am writing you this review, I guess it is obvious that there was something that I picked out because I did indeed buy it. As I was feeling around these couple of toasters, they all had the same weight, and aside from the stainless steel covering of the Waring, looked pretty alike in their basic functions. However, there were a few things that were noticeably of a higher quality on the Waring, and thus justified the higher price tag for me. Don't hesitate to buy this toaster. It is great quality, stainless steel throughout with no cheap plastic sides like so many stainless models. It toasts evenly with light to dark dial. It has a very nice defrost feature which actually defrosts, not toasts.Wide slots for bagels with a bagel toasting feature that will toast inside but not exterior of the bagel. It is a bit large and industrial looking, which I like. A really well made stainless steel toaster at a reasonable price.

It works pretty well
I have an OLD Alpine Living Air machine, that actually came from the New Frontier Hotel and Casino before it was torn down. You can imagine all the cigarette smoke it had in it. Well, after continuously cleaning the original ozone plate, I decided to see if I could find a new one on Amazon. I was happy I did. I pulled out the old plate, and installed the new. DIY and save money.
So glad this is available. Did the repair myself. Saved my $800 washer from going in the scrap heap. I did the repair about two weeks ago and the washer is going strong. I guess I did it right.

Installing this myself saved me a couple hundred dollars. This is the second one i installed on this washer so I bought upgraded bearings because I don't want to do this again. The new bearings are much quieter than the old ones.

What can I say, it's an O-ring, but when I got the automated e-mail asking to review it, I just had to say something.

Here it is....

The O-ring fit the device it was designed to work in, thereby preventing a leak and a flooded basement. I recommend that if you need an o-ring and this is the size you are looking for, buy it... Buy it quickly....

Others may say it's just an o-ring but it's an o-ring that fits! I bought one from a website that specializes in filters and it was a little big and every time i changed my filter I had to fight with the o-ring slipping out of the grove. This one fits perfect!

I always have some on hand for periodic replacement, along with the filter. The O-ring wears out too, so if you don't, you will water & pressure without further ado!

NEW Energy Efficient Ceramic Electric Space Heater Star

I've owned Pelonis heaters in the past, and this is not a Pelonis heater. It's a cheap copy made in China. You can tell as soon as you lift it that it's a piece of junk.

We bought it for a vacation home. As soon as I put it on the floor and turned it on, it quickly overheated and short-circuited. The outside became so hot that you couldn't touch it without burning yourself.

The printing on the outside of the box says it's UL-Approved. I don't believe it. I have worked in a factory producing UL-Approved products, and there is no way this heater would have survived their tests.

best and smallest
This is by far a great heater, really heats a room quickly. It is so small and compact, it can be stored anywhere. I gave away a brand new bulky space heater that I had previously purchased once I used this Pelonis heater . Not to mention its safety feature, if it tips it turns off. Truley a worthwhile investment.

Fantastic cleaning performance
Anyone who knows me will tell you I am particular. Actually, they'd likely just say I'm picky - I am - and that's certainly true about my vacuums. I want the perfect balance of cleaning performance, features, and usability for my dollar. I did all my research online because I couldn't find the models I liked in a nearby store. It's really hard to make a judgement call rooted in online-only research. I still feel vacuums need to be experienced... One day while starting up my research, this Kenmore Intuition 31200 was on sale and I decided to give it a shot. Not only did I save money, but this vacuum is the BEST cleaning vacuum I've ever used. The suction power is wholly impressive to say the least. I'm quite happy that it's a bag vacuum despite the bagless trend. Very Heavy Duty
I'm really happy with this vacuum. I had a Dyson previously but it was several years old and the HEPA filtration wasn't working as expected. We have 2 golden retrievers and I could smell pet odor from the exhaust. This doesn't happen with the Intuition, I bought the HEPA bags and the air coming out smells fresh. They're more expensive but worth it, because my house smells clean when I'm done vacuuming. I wasn't sure about going from bagless to bag but I actually like it much better, I'm not having to empty the chamber each time and I hated the dust that would fly up when emptying. When I first used it on a shag area rug it was so powerful that I could barely push the machine, I thought I was going to have to return it. But I used it on our thick plush carpet and it works fine, it was just too much power for the shag. Good bread maker
This bread maker does a good job of making bread. The only real difficulty is removing the paddle (that get's baked into the bottom of the loaf after mixing) when the bread is done baking. Like any bread maker it can be loud and the paddle may start to squeak, but my parents have had the same thing happen with other brands of bread makers. The different settings are nice, allowing you to make different kinds of breads and pastries, and even jams. We have enjoyed the dough setting which we like to use to mix our own pizza crust (which seems about impossible with a normal mixer). A recipe book is provided so you don't have to guess what will work with your particular bread maker. The company was also very good to work with when we had questions.

Garbage. I bought this set at Lowes and they charged $20. I've had to super glue them and they still fall apart. I hate them! I hope I can find something better.

This Item is portrayed as fitting all stoves. There are inserts to allow the knobs to fit two sizes of stove. It does not fit mine. Therefore it was a total waste of money and time.

Rice Cooker, Warmer and Steamer Size: 10 Cup, Color: White

Best rice results ever the first time used.
I got this cooker for Christmas from my daughters. They chose this one because they knew I prefer not to use nonstick coatings. I used it for the first time tonight and followed the directions exactly and got the most perfect rice. I really loved not having to time my rice to be done at the same time the rest of the dishes were. It stayed piping hot until everything was ready. I rinsed my jasmin rice thoroughly and then sprayed the stainless pot well with Pam before putting in the rice. I used the measurements it called for eventhough I was skeptical. (1 to 1) It was perfect. Afterwards at cleanup there was no sticking at all around the sides (probably alot due to the pam)and very little on the bottom. Cleanup was a breeze. It may have partly been due to perhaps a 30 minute wait for dinner and another 30 minutes during dinner that it was kept warm for only an hour total. It may have stuck some had it stayed warming alot longer but I think a 10 minute soak would have still...

great rice and no boil overs
I've had this rice cooker for about 6 months and absolutely love it. Not only does it make great rice, (and not have any harmful teflon or aluminum), it also is constructed differently than some other stainless rice cookers which have glass covers with holes in the glass and thus boil over during the cooking. This one seals completely and leaves your counter clean. Also, this one keeps the rice warm (without drying out) for many, many hours... the booklet says 24 hours. I've used it to keep it warm at least 4 hours, and the rice tastes like it was just made.

As others have said, if you soak the pot afterwards, whatever stuck to the bottom wipes off with a damp cloth. No scrubbing needed.

I've found that if you want pilaf style rice, rinse the rice in a strainer before cooking, then mix the rice in the pot with 2 Tablespoons of oil before adding the water. If you want Chinese restaurant-style "sticky" rice, don't rinse the rice before cooking and don't add oil...

great stainless steel interior
This is a very good rice cooker. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles (no delay in starting, no options to select white or brown rice like my last cooker had) but more importantly, it has a completely stainless-steel interior. The inside lid, steamer insert, and bowl are all stainless and so no chemicals come in contact with your food and no non-stick coating can wear off over time. It is a cool-touch model, looks nice, and cleanup actually has been very easy if you soak the bowl for a bit before washing. So I would say this is a very good choice if you are concerned about chemicals leaching from your cookware.

GE SmartWater Inline Filter System (GXRLQ)

Okay for taste
This is really nothing more than a taste filter - it does a pretty good job of making los Angeles water taste good - I use this to run to the water and ice maker in my fridge.

However, doing an actual water test, it does not remove a lot of the dissolved solids and minerals.

The overall system is fairly well made - it is easy to change filters and you do not have to turn of the water to do so as the filter head features an auto shut off when the filter is removed.

However, the attachment to the wall is a single screw, and the connectors for the water lines are not as robust as i might like (friction fit essentially - but then it IS all plastic and not brass.) this is probably better to use with plastic water line, as the flexibility of the plastic line should reduce stress at the fitting. I of course am using copper line, and thus my concern over the robustness of the fittings.

Easy installation, better tasting water
This is a great option for a fridge that does not have a built in filter. The filter is easy to install and easy to change. Water tastes good. I bought extra long tubing and ran it up to the cabinet above the fridge through a small hole made with a drill. Now it is totally concealed and accessible with a step stool.

Just as advertised. Lower cost than local hardware store
This part is exact replacement as advertised and arrived in new, shrink wrapped condition. Even after shipping it still saves me money over buying it at local hardware store.

Whirlpool Part Number 99001576: BASKET- SI

Handle from old basket did not fit in slots.
Odd that you would sell a basket without a handle when old handles don't usually fit. My husband had to shove the handle on and I'm constantly worried that if I'm carrying it full, the handle may come off. The basket was the same thickness of plastic as the one that originally came with the dishwasher and that fell apart on the bottom after 10 years.

KitchenAid Hand Mixer Liquid Blender Rod Attachment

Handy to have for the right job
I use this attachment to blend in the oil that floats to the top of the jar of peanut butter (or other nut butters - I like the cashew butter from Trader Joe's). I tried using it to puree soup in the pot without much success and ended up transferring the soup to my blender.

I haven't tried it for much else, but I would recommend it for the peanut butter job alone since it works really well and takes up almost no space in the drawer. If you are sick of making a mess with the oil that floats to the top of the jar and that hard, dry nut butter at the bottom, give this attachment a try (and hold on tight to that jar so it doesn't spin away from you!). Store the peanut butter in the fridge after you've blended it and it won't separate again.

Awesome attachment because you can liquify homemade salad dressings very easily. However the rod didn't fit my old Kitchenaid mixer - got a new one for xmas and it fits.

Was just as promised. However, this really doesn't work well as a immersion blender. If that's what you want, skip this product and get an immersion blender. Why on earth do these reviews require a minimum number of words?

I bought the Cuisinart 6 quart electric pressure cooker after reading many reviews and researching different options (stove top vs electric). I was a little wary about getting a pressure cooker because I had never used one, and the there are stories of pressure cookers exploding from the first generation of pressure cookers in the 1940's. Everything that I have read says that all of todays cookers are much safer, but because I tend to be very cautious I went with the electric model because of the added safety features. The lid locks into place and will not open until the pressure has been properly released. I was given the book: The Pressure Cooker Cookbook by Toula Patsalis as a gift. I used this book as one of my main guides in choosing a cooker. There is a whole chapter devoted to picking out a pressure cooker, and the recipes are top notch. I would highly recommend this book to anyone buying a pressure cooker.

Not only a Pressure Cooker, but a great Stock Pot
When I purchased my pressure cooker, I was quite the "novice". Like others, I had seen my grandmother use one when I was a child. . . but my mother was always very afraid of pressure cookers and warned me that I would "die" if I ever used one. Friends of my parents had one and cooked chili in it once, and it "exploded" and chili was everywhere. So I just never bothered. Then I came across this one.

A couple of things I didn't know and learned after I received the item. First, you can only fill it from 50 - 60% full, depending upon what you're making. So if you're going to use the pressure cooker then though it says that it's a 6-quart, you can really only cook 3 - 4 quarts.

But here's the really great thing that I learned, and I don't see this in the book or anything. It's not only a pressure cooker. . . It's a Stock Pot or electric pot. . . whatever you want to call it. I've made chicken stock in it, and filled it just about to the top with great...

5 STAR COOKER AND 0 STAR MANUALSo
Let me start by saying I was ready to return it ( Costco), but i finally figured it out!!!!I was ready to quit and spent over 3 hrs on a recipe. I did not want to give up and had a perfect quinoa earlier.

1. make sure the metal plate with the seal on the lid is on the correct way. The metal pin has to be on the opposite side of the pressure valve - in line with it. there is a small picture in the manual.
2. Make sure you have enough liquid. I had problems only when trying Mediterranean brisket ( steam escaped through red valve) and trying to cook rolled oats. Rolled oats did not build any pressure because by the time water boiled - there was no water only oats.

If you are having troubles with it - test it with water. Fill it to 4 cup line, set it for 1 minute or more and see if the pressure builds.

Margaritaville DM3000 Tahiti Frozen Concoction Maker

Great product!
Ok, so like almost everyone who is reading this review...my first thought was "Why am I going to pay THAT kind of money for a hyped up blender!" I can sum it up in two words...snowball fight!

Seriously though, I took the plunge and am not upset that I did. This makes a great addition to any party, whether it's a couple of friends, or a crowd. And nobody's walking around chewing on ice chips from their blender drinks! My kids love the shaved ice to play with, and it makes great snowcones/slushies.

Setup is easy, cleanup is easy (seriously), the only problem that I have found so far is creating the right recipes for the drinks. It comes with some standards...but I like to play!

Originally, my wife wanted to get a professional maker, but we found they were thousands of dollars. After buying the DM3000, we could care less about the profession model anymore...this one makes 3 different drinks in a cycle, is fun to watch, and easier to maintain! It is...

Works well but not the fit and finish expected
The unit works as advertised but the fit and finish is not what the marketing leads you to believe. The entire unit is plastic including the jars. I sent an email to the manufacturer voicing my disappointment and they said they can't control the descrptions placed on third party web sites. Well, the description is the same on their web site. For the price, I was expecting this unit to be built like my Kitchen-aid mixer, but it's not... it's cheap.

That being said, I decided to keep it because it does make three different frozen drinks all at once and it is fun to watch. It is a great conversation piece, just don't mention what you paid for it or your guests will think you lost your marbles paying that amount for a hunk of plastic.

I'm giving the unit three stars. I subtracted one for the build quality and one for manufactures customer service.

Best Party Machine Ever!
Bought this for a Fourth of July party and it was an immediate hit! How fun to make three types of perfect frozen drinks at once. Have even adapted other recipes - including some great non-alcoholic ones. Keeping bags of ice on hand in the freezer makes the best tasting drinks. I love this thing!

Kozy World 20-6027 Wall Heater Blower

No Big Help
I replaced an old open flame ceramic gas type unit with the Kozy World KWN191 18,000-BTU Vent-Free Natural-Gas Infrared Wall Heater. The heater is located in a two car garage. I expected a marked improvement in air flow by using the fan. Unfortunately, the fan doesn't have much power and is hardly noticeable in pushing warm air from the unit. I thought also that it might help circulate oxygen to the Cozy unit and thus keep the O2 sensor from shutting the unit down... again not much discernable difference. Since the O2 sensor cuts off the Kozy heater if you turn it up to the higher BTU levels the thermostat control that should turn the fan on and off as needed never comes into play. Not worth the $35+ paid for and for no more than what it is, should have came with the unit already mounted. The mounting was easy but again for the cost--- should have came mounted right out of the box. I would have been better off to bought (4) box fans from Wal-Mart @ $10 each to move the warm air...

I installed the fan on my heater. The only way I know it's on is I can hear it. Does not seem to move any air or heat around the area.

Blower Kit
This blower was relatively easy to install but to me, the small amount of air it moves is not worth the noise. It's laud.

SPT Tower Ceramic Heater with Thermostat

Helps with room that is colder than rest of house.
First one did not oscillate so had a new replacement sent to me which works fine.

Has the following modes -
Low: low speed fan with heat (900 watts)
high: high speed fan with heat (1500 watts)
fan: high speed fan without heat so you can use it on the summertime
auto: you set the temperature (50-86F in 2 degree increments) and the heater turns on/off when it's 2 degrees below/above the set temperature.

Remembers mode when power is off unless it's unplugged then it returns to default. Plug is polarized (two-prong).

Has an OSC button so unit can oscillate (left to right) and a timer to keep unit on for a duration of 1-8 hours in 1 hour increments.

Has air inlet grill with filter that can be easily removed and cleaned.

Has a tip over safety switch on the bottom. When the unit is tipped, it automatically shuts off.

There is a hand slot near top to move unit.

Love This Heater!
The heater I ordered because mine went out and I went to all local stores and everybody just had a sale on them so they didn't have any in the surrounding towns of me at all! I looked up heaters on Amazon.com found this one was a little sketchy about the product for the price comparing to my last buys on heaters from local stores. Package came in fairly quick. Once opened up and plugged in it was instantly blowing out warm air in a cold room. The features are good just wished it had a auto timer to turn it on like my others do. Overall this is a awesome heater and am thinking about ordering another for another room. It heats my living room and kitchen area pretty good here in Louisiana when it is in the 30's i can stay comftorable. So it is a better product then the other few I have!

Chinese Engineering?
Problems:

Loud beep when timer mode ends which always wakes me up. Why would they do that?

In automatic thermostat mode it goes on and off but only with the high speed fan setting. So the heating is loud and not gentle. Why wouldnt they employ the lower fan setting for simply mainting a room's heat?

The thermostat is crude. It is built into the unit which makes it innacurate and constantly fluctuating depending on whether its on or not. The heater heats up past the temp you set it at so you get fairly wide swings in temperature. Employing the low setting in auto mode could have mitigated this but apparently they didnt want to bother.

Most annoying of all, the oscillation isn't silent. It makes a tiny little clicking sound when it reaches the end of one direction and begins moving in the opposite. It's just loud enough that I can hear it from my bed a few feet away and it drives me crazy because it isn't a constant "white" noise...

Electrolux Guardian HEPA Filter

Not Electrolux Brand
This filter appears to be fine. However, I purchased this product instead of one of the other listings because the product description stated that it was an Electrolux filter "by Electrolux". I believed I was buying the name brand filter.

The quality seems fine. Just know that this is not an Electrolux filter.

Fell apart
I have had Electrolux vacuum for about three years and have went through about five filters. This one fell apart after a few uses. First the cover came off and there was no way to reattach it. Then the whole thing continued to fall apart after that. I had to hold it on by tape to finish out the job of vacuuming. Will not buy this product again. Not sure if it was just a 'lemon' that I received or if they are all this way. But I will try to buy name-brand from now on.

Clean Air
This filter cleans the air just as good as the original type does. Clean air is very important, as my wife has allergies. I would recommend this replacement filter for your vaccum.

DeLonghi Kmix 5-Cup Drip Coffee Maker, White

Smallest Coffee maker I could find
Seems all these $1000 espresso machines are fantastically tiny and well designed (and what exactly do they do for $1000? Heat water to 1000 kelvin? Blast steam through coffee grounds at warp 9.9? Must be an engineering marvel for all that money). Then I try to buy a normal coffee maker and it seems my only option was going to Target and spending $29.95 on a surprisingly gigantic monstrosity. Unfortunately my counter space is measured on the nanoscale, no way was I going to give up half of it to a coffee maker. That's why I was so excited to find this one at Bloomingdales - and then find it way cheaper here on Amazon. It looks great, and all the colors are fantastic in person (I saw all the choices at Bloomies).

Tip for owners of the K-Mix
I won't expound on the many qualities of this coffee maker (of which there are many), as it has been well established here by the other reviews. I'm as happy as most, but obviously not all. I have not experience any of the problems these 1 and 2 star reviews are giving. This is a simple, good looking, sturdy coffee maker. If you're in a hurry for a cup of coffee, go to Starbucks.

Just a tip for those who buy this machine. After several pots of coffee have been made, you will turn it on one day and see an amber light blinking above the On/Off switch. There are no real instructions that come with this coffeemaker, so you're on your own to figure out what that blinking light means. What it means is this: It's time to descale the machine.

You can do this buy buying one of the many coffeemaker cleaners on the market (follow the instructions that come with that) or by running 4-6 cups of vinegar through the machine, followed by a few full pots of water to rinse it...

No 2-hour shut off
I like the looks and the coffee from this maker but, per the description, it should have a 2-hour shut off. It acually says "you never have to worry about turning off your coffee maker, with 2-hour automatic shut off it does it for you". When mine was not shutting itself off I called the company and they told me this model does not have an auto shut off. So, for over $100 you can't even get a feature that comes on $15 machines but should be considered a basic on ALL coffee pots just for safety reasons. Shame on Amazon for listing a description that is not at all accurate and shame on the company for making a substandard machine and charging a ridiculous price.

Sharp Half Pint Microwave Oven

Expensive but good microwave for it's niche
First off, ignoring price, this is a great microwave if you need/want something for a small room, office, apartment, etc. Let's talk about what it is. It's a small microwave. That's it. It's "Sharp" in that it's very aesthetically pleasing. I actually keep it in my office where we're not technically allowed to have our own microwaves. I work in IT, however, and this little beauty doesn't even look like a microwave. People think it's some kind of new server! :)

Other than the slick looks, it seems well built enough. The door seems remarkably light weight compared to the rest of the unit, but not to any kind of alarming degree. The turntable inside seems to be of thick durable tempered glass.

Great truck microwave
I bought this microwave for use in a 2006 KW 600. After I removed the plastic spacer off of the back of it, it fit into the closet in my truck and secure the hard door with no problem. I believe that the plastic is there to make sure there is an air gap behind the microwave. I just make sure that I slide it forward a couple of inches before I use it. It has worked perfectly off of the 1800w inverter in the truck. You just have to add a minute to most cooking times because it is only 600w and recipes usually assume 1000w. I have run it simutaneously with my 5c Mr Coffee or my 2 slice toaster with no problems. I use it at least twice a day. Hopefully when it gives out I will be able to get another one.
Yes, it does fit a full-sized dinner plate. The reason it is a cube shape is because the magnatron is in the top and not on the right side.

Sharp Half Pint Microwave Review
I have had a sharp half pint for years and it has delivered service without fail. Just recently the door spring broke so I went in search of a reploacement. The Half Pint size fits my limited kitchen space to a T so I went back to that reliable product. I could not get a green replacement (matches my kitchen decor) so I opted for a black one. Still works wonderfully. My only issue is that the black one does not have a viewing window in the door like the green one. I never realized how much I used that viewer until it was gone. Otherwise the product is more than satisfactory.

Honeywell HHT-149 HEPAClean Antibacterial Air Purifier with UV Light

Good product
I bought this from HomeDepot for $240. I bought this over their smaller $120 model because this has UV light cleaner + also eliminates Fungi, certain bacteria and certain viruses.

The unit is very quiet and has nice features like LCD lit display that shuts off on its own so it doesn't bother you at night, oscillation with a very wide range (about 170 degrees ) which is enough to cover all areas in a room, a timer that can run up to 15 hours I think, 12 levels of cleaning power and an ionizer.

It has 2 reusable HEPA Filters in it (type C) and a couple of washable filters that you can clean every 2-3 months with water. The HEPA filter can be vacuumed and reused. Or you can toss it and buy a new one for $24 from HomeDepot (or cheaper on Amazon).

The unit does send nice cool and fresh air and the air quality does feel better.

My family member would rub their eye when they entered the bedroom upstairs. I think it may be because of either mold...

3rd Times a Charm! Perfection!
This is my third air purifier and very first Honeywell. I decided to go for this one because of all the positive things I have read about the HEPAClean technology with added UV Light. This product does not disappoint! Cleans are quickly and my allergies are now non-existent! I had two other brands prior to this Honeywell and they were just a waste of money. This fit in perfectly with my budget as I was not willing to spend $500 on an air purifier. If you are in the market for an air purifier, look no further as this bad boy is absolutely perfect in every way! Cheers!

This is the third Honeywell HHT-149 HEPAClean Antibacterial Air Purifier I have purchased and the first from Allergy Be Gone. My wife and I really like these air purifiers, however this one is defective and broke within 2 weeks of having it. I attempted a return/ exchange process with Allergy Be Gone, whom I purchased it from, and I have not received 1 response from them. This purchase is quickly becoming one of the worst I have had from Amazon. I truly hope that Allergy Be Gone get's their act together soon and makes things right by replacing this unit for me or Amazon will become Amazon Be Gone for me.

I got tired of spending money on cleaners that couldn't do the job on hardwood floors. I have 2 dogs and am very particular about a clean house. I use the attachments often, the length of cord is good, the bags are a bit expensive to buy but they take forever to fill so in the end better on the pocket book. Perfect for our use
We purchased the Stainless Steel BottleLess Water Cooler for personal use. Since I drink a lot of water, constantly refilling the refrigerator Brita bottle was becoming a nuisance. This completely fills our need for filtered drinking water. The only drawback is that we wish that there was an adjustment to the temperature for the hot water. It is a little lower than what we would prefer for hot tea or instant coffee. The installation was relatively easy. I had been a little concerned about the hot water and a 2 year old grandson. But the safety feature seems adequate. He does enjoy getting his own cup of water. The ease to remove and clean the drip pan is a plus. Would definitely recommend this item for home use if filtered water is important to you.

This Water Panel Pad was exactly as advertised, the exact replacement for the 15-year old filter it replaced. It was a perfect fit.

Item OK but poorly shipped
The pad is a high quality pad but shipped in a soft package wrapped very tightly in bubble wrap with no markings. Not knowing what it was (and confusing it with something else that was ordered due to lack of markings) we damaged the pads just trying to get them out of the tight wrapping. Again the pads are great, just be careful getting them out of the mailing packaging.

Yolife Yogurt Maker (YL-210)

If you have to have one, this is the BEST COMMERCIAL one
I am a firm believer that you need no special equipment to make yogurt. I have made yogurt many times using a double boiler and a styrofoam "beer cooler" as is available in various sizes at grocery and service stations every summer for about $4. (see my comments at the end)

However, if you want a maker "off the shelf" this is excellent. It has the following pluses:
* It's instructions actually allow effective production of decent yogurt without further ado or special "mixes" or extras.
* It's got the "high top" lid which allows fairly easy 96oz (3qts, 3liters) of yogurt to be made at one time.. NOTE: For larger amounts you do need to supply your own containers.. not hard as tupperware bowls or mason jars, etc work fine.
* Although I would not rate it "superior" quality, it is decently made and has a 5yr warranty.. definitely above the norm.
* This makes inexpensive yogurt. (under $0.75 a quart for me) You can also use soy milk, goats' milk, etc to make...

Doesn't live up to my high hopes
I bought the Yolife yogurt maker primarily because of the extra tall cover and the claim that it could make up to 80 ounces of yogurt in one batch. Although it works very well when making yogurt in the small glass jars that came with it, I've had mixed results and considerable frustration when trying larger batches.

First, the machine heats the activated milk to a maximum of 105 degrees -- which is on the low side for good yogurt-making.

Unfortunately, that maximum temperature is reached only very close to the bottom of the machine. The only way you can possibly make 80 ounces of yogurt is by using very tall jars -- and the liquid in the upper halves of the jars simply doesn't get hot enough to firm up.

So I switched to making one-quart batches using lower containers -- and that worked fine as long as 1) I heated the milk to 110 degrees before putting it in the machine, 2) covered the Yolife with a heavy towel, and 3) the room was warm. I have to say...

Nifty little machine!
This yogurt maker is really a very simple machine,but it does what it's meant to and it does it excellently.

Isn't that what we all want when we purchase something?

I'd been making yogurt at home, using a combination of a warm oven and in winter, even wrapping the bowl with a small fleece blanket in an attempt to keep the temperature constantly warm enough to let the yogurt set. This method didn't always work and when I think of the sour milk I got half of the time, it makes me cringe.

But The Yolife Yogurt maker takes away all the paraphernalia and planning. Just plug in and the yogurt is ready to consume in 6-8 hours, depending on how "done" or tart one wants their yogurt.

I used a small 6-oz carton plain lowfat yogurt as my first starter. Make sure to look for "contains live and active cultures" and not "made with live cultures".

Also, I have found that 2% milk makes the most smooth, delicious yogurt, as it has just enough fat...

Classic, simple design is best
This simple design is the best for a rice cooker. You'll see that the lid is not attached to the appliance itself and the rice cooking insert and steamer aren't, either. This is what you want. Everything that comes in contact with food can take a dunk in soapy water or sit in the dishwasher. Other models, fancier models, have the lid on a hinge and attach to the appliance itself. That's a terrible design because you have to clean the lid by hand, especially the plastic gasket that goes around the lid. I had one for a year and threw it out in frustration one night. I'm much happier with this model and haven't thrown it once. It makes great brown rice, too.

I bought this after my old rice cooker crapped out. There's not much to say about rice cookers. They are all work basically the same. Put in the rice, the water, put on the lid, and push the button and wait. What it comes down to for me is how easy it is to clean. This one is super easy. First, the rice container itself is non-stick so the rice won't get stuck to the bottom. Second, the lid is glass and there isn't a huge area around the edge for stuff to get stuck in. Finally the steam vent is steel - not rubber like so many. It also comes with a steam tray- which is nice. You can put the rice container, steam tray, and lid in the dishwasher as they are all diswasher safe. I'd buy this again for sure.

I had a four cup. I have a large family, and this is perfect. I like the color it can stay on my utility cabinet. Now one pot feeds everyone. It doesn't get too hot too fast. Also if you take a paper towel and lay it over the cook pot under the lid, it will make the rice come out better and catch some of the sugar goo.

3M Scotch Heavy Duty Mounting Tape, 1-Inch by 125-Inch (314) holds up to 5 lbs.

Holds only small amount of weight for "Heavy Duty"
I wanted to use this to mount a utensil rack so I wouldn't have to drill holes. When I got it, I found that the tape could not hold the rack because of the weight of the utensils. I was disappointed. (I'm going to try my commercial strength adhesive velcro. That usually holds anything.)

The instructions on the back state:
4 inches of tape for every 1 pound of weight

So measure the space that will sit FLAT on the surface to determine if there is enough surface space for the amount of tape you need. In my case, there was only about a half inch of surface space on each end, thus it would hold only 1/2 pound with this tape.

Terrible!
I have Stucco walls and it is a pain to try and hang stuff on. So to avoid having to get wall anchors I went on a search for some mounting tape. Because I didn't want to have to spend a lot for the command strips (in which you only get 4 for about $10) I went the cheaper way and bought this. Scotch is a well known brand for tape and I thought that this should work. Boy, was I wrong. Not only did it not hold worth a darn. When I actually wanted the stuff I was hanging to come down I couldn't get it off. Trying to get my hanging off It snapped it (since it was wood) and the strips took off my paint and plaster. Now I have some major holes in my walls that need to be filled and re-painted which is a real pain because it's a newly remodled home.

Nothing Better!
This tape is extremely powerful. If you love the power of duct tape you will love the power of this tape. I always keep a roll of it handy. And buying this one that comes one inch wide and 125 inches long is priced at the best deal, even compared to Walmart stores!

Minka-Aire F519-MG 52-inch Concept II Flush Mount Ceiling Fan, Mahogany with Mahogany Blades

great ceiling-hugger fan
Had a hard time finding a low-profile (ceiling hugger) fan we liked. There's not a lot to choose from out there, especially if you don't want the light. This fan gives you the option to go with or without the light, which is a great feature. Fan looks great and is very stable and quiet.

07/20/11 update: Recently bought two more of these fans for upstairs bedrooms. One of the new fans runs silently, just like the the first one we bought for the family room downstairs. The other new fan makes a very noticeable humming sound that gets louder as the fan speed is increased. I called Minka-Aire customer support and they told me to return the fan and get a new one. I apparently just got a bad unit. A fan in this price range should be silent (other than the sound of moving air), so if you get one that makes any noise at all it should be returned. This is where Amazon's fantastic return policy pays off.

I purchased these fans as I'm 6'2", ceilings are 8' and they seemed to be the fans with the blades closest to the ceiling so I don't lose a hand while I'm getting dressed in the morning. We purchased 4 of these fans, as well as another model from Minka Aire. Compared to the other model of Minka Aire (purchased from Restoration Hardware), these are much easier to install. They have not wobbled, move air nicely. They light is perhaps not the most attractive, but it lights the room well. The base of these fans are larger than other fans, and may appear bulkier towards the ceiling.

However, it is a bit more complex than a screwdriver and electrical tape to install, as another reviewer mentioned. The ceiling fan has to be secured to the ceiling in an appropriate fashion, either attached directly to a ceiling joist, or through brace b/n the ceiling joists. (westinghouse Saf-T Brace). The person installing it has to have a knowledge of how to attach wires.

Excellent product!
The prefilter and replacement filter work very well together. I have not had this much circulation since I purchased the Air Cleaner. My main reason for ordering the Hot Pot is that it is made from stainless steel and I am reluctant to boil water in one of the competing plastic pots since I fear the chemical leaching potential of electric plastic kettles. I wanted to add this review to the ones already listed to add some further information. On reading the earlier reviews, I could not get the answer to how fast the tea kettle will bring water to a boil. One review said that it is slower when set on the 120 volt mode for the US and that is where I will be using it primarily. I use it to boil water for my French Press coffee pot mostly which requires 16 ounces of water to make a full pot (19 ounce french press). 16 ounces of water boils in 3 minutes here at 3000 feet altitude while the full pot (to the "MAX" mark inside the pot) boils in just about 4 minutes. Then the pot clicks off, the light on the handle goes out and water has come to a full rolling boil. By contrast, my 1200 Watt microwave takes about 5 minutes...

More than my moneys worth
I've been using this kettle in Afghanistan for over three months now sharing it in a tent with seven other guys and also one of our female Soldiers who knocks on the door asking for hot water. It's used A LOT and keeps boiling HOT water. The size is handy, not too big. It's done everything I've wanted and looks like it's going to last the entire deployment.

Just what I was looking for!
I scoured the internet for days looking for a small, streamlined, non-clunky, non-plastic hot pot that held a quart or less of water for my daughter's desk at work. The hardest part was the non-clunky, non-plastic part! This little number is great! It heats water to a rolling boil in less than 3 minutes and then shuts off automatically and can only be restarted by pushing the reset button...so no accidental boiling dry or overheating. The outside of the pot does get hot!...but that's what being metal is all about. It's no worse than a percolator type coffee pot and is much like a small, streamlined percolator but with no basket or clunky dangling things to get in the way or snag on things or get lost. It's simply a nice little pot with a lid.

The only drawback I can foresee is that the cord is permanently wired into the base of the pot...no way to replace the cord, as you can do with an electric percolator by just going to the hardware store and getting a replacement...

Chef Buddy 3-Tier Chocolate Fountain

just what we needed
This is perfect size for small parties. Other remarks state it is noisy, but I did not feel that way. Practice before your event. I added to much oil and it would not stick to articles.

Awesome gift
I've used this three times so far with 4-6 people each time, and have to say the results are great. Make sure to follow the recipe that comes with it to ensure proper chocolate flow. I should add that the recipe states to melt the chocolate mixture and stir out the lumps prior to putting into the machine. Once the stirring got very tedious and we did not see any improvements to the lumps, we stuck it in the fountain, and it smoothed it out for us-there is a heat function.
As far as noise, there is a slight hum, but once conversations started it became unnoticeable background noise. I do notice a cleaning issue as well. The product has three parts to it, the base, the black churner and the see through plastic fountain piece all shown in the picture. The base has to be wiped down with a damp cloth/paper towel or wet wipe. It cannot be submerged. Also has to be cleaned quickly after you are done using it. The churner is very easy to clean with no surprises.

The fountain works well but you must use the right chocolate or add oil to the chocolate to make it flow, but that goes for any chocolate fountain. The well is not that deep and if using plain chocolate chips mixed with oil it only holds one normal sized bag. ALWAYS melt your chocolate before you put it in the basin as it does not get hot enough to melt it on its own, if the chocolate doesnt flow, add more oil until it flows smoothly. Another pointer to ensure smooth even flow, make sure it is on a stable and level surface, there are little screw legs to allow you to make it even, you will know that it is not level with the way the flow is. Great for small parties, always a hit. The machine runs a little loud but with music and / or background noise it really isn't a bother.

Hoover MultiCyclonic Canister, SH40060

Best Bagless Canister Vacuum for the Money
We have a 2000 sq. ft. home with 2 dogs and a cat so we tend to put our vacuum cleaners through frequent hard use. As such, we weren't looking to spend more than $200 on a cleaner that, in all actuality, would probably need replacing in 2 years. After a terrible experience with another vacuum (the Eureka 940A Pet vacuum - CHEAP, awful, and useless after 1 month), we were looking for another that was 1) under $200; 2) a canister; 3) bagless; 4) had some quality construction and maintained suction. We saw the Hoover Multi-Cyclonic Canister at our local Target and were impressed with the feel and quality of it, but were a bit skeptical of what we would be getting for the $150 price. Amazon was pretty short on reviews, but the ones that were posted all had very positive comments (including a suspicious one that seemed to know WAY too much about vacuum cleaners and Dyson patents) so we decided to give it a shot. We're very glad we did - this little cleaner has been awesome...

AVOID THIS VACUUM. Hoover could easily make it a 10-star product

My wife asked if we should get a Dyson. $500 for a vacuum? No way... I started looking...

Amazon sent me a notice offering the Hoover MultiCyclonic Canister - SH40060 for $144. I bought it; my wife was pissed because we didn't have a discussion first. End of background statement.

I put it together without needing the instruction booklet. GOOD SHOW, Hoover!

The entire vacuum structure is plastic. So is my wife's high-precision $2000 Bernina sewing machine. Not a confidence builder, but not a problem, either. It makes the business end light and easy to move around.

I pulled out the cord and plugged it in. The cord is almost 1/2 the length of the cord on our Royal upright. BAD SHOW, Hoover. This is a substantial, but far from fatal, annoyance - I can vacuum my entire 1300-sq-ft ground floor with the Royal plugged into one outlet. I...

Light Weight combined with POWER!!!
I bought this vacuum 2 weeks ago. It is sold by and ships from Target Stores. I waited over a month for the vacuum to be in-stock. Was so excited to finally get it. The Hoover Multi-Cyclonic canister is, in reality, a fantastic copy of the world-famous Dyson DC05 MotorHead model vacuum cleaner. The Dyson DC05 was designed for British homes - the Hoover was designed for American Homes. And boy, did Hoover do a fantastic job.

The Hoover features, among other things, perfect edge cleaning. The brush bristles splay out at the ends, brushing all the way to the edge of the carpets, against the walls. The suction power is amazing. The multi-cyclonic filtration system works exactly like Dyson's (the Dyson patents are expired). The Hoover is easy to empty without flying dust - due to the 'cup' design of the trap door on the clear bin. When you pull the Hoover, it rears back on it's rear wheels - cutting the effort needed to pull the machine by one half.

Nespresso C50-US-TP-NE Espresso Maker, Pure Grey

Disappointing product from Nespresso
I've used a Nespresso machine for about 8 years, and the results have been terrific. My original machine, one of the first on the market, has been slowing down over the past year, to the point where the water flow was thin and slow. I decided to purchase a new machine, and after some extensive research, decided on the U. When I set it up at home, and put a capsule in, clear water came through, half in the cup under the spout, and half in the water tray. I repeated the process several times, and each time only water came through, not coffee. After spending a half an hour on the phone with Nespresso, and trying different fixes suggested by the agent (after being put on hold repeatedly), I was told to try cleaning the interior of the machine. With that I gave up--who wants a machine that has to be cleaned for it to work properly, and who knows what else lurks inside. It should work out of the box.

Love the Nespresso!
Coffee at our house just stepped up a few levels. We used to have two makers on our counter, one regular drip coffee and a keurig. We now only have one coffee maker.

It is a little louder than a normal coffee maker, but it is making espresso at 19 bars of pressure. It's gonna be loud. The coffee pods are more expensive than regular coffee but taste like it.

The unit is small and easy to clean and maintain. A cup of coffee can be made as strongly or lightly as desired.

We are happy members of the Nespresso family.

Great Machine, Great (but not cheap) Coffee
Recently I was at a Disney hotel and they had a self-service Nespresso machine for guests. I fell in love the coffee. So, while standing in a line at Disneyland I ordered the U on my phone. I compared several of the machines and the U seemed to have the best features for the price. Plus, what man is going to order something called the "Pixie." Really Nespresso?

I have only had it for a couple of days and I will update this review if I run into any problems or have more to say, however this is my first impression.

* It was easy to set up. The instructions are good, although it seems as though they were translated from another language. The wording is clear, but sometimes awkwardly phrased.
* After a couple of cleaning cycles, you are ready to brew. I had my first cup about 10 minutes after unboxing.
* Its attractively styled. It's has basic utilitarian look, not overly "blingy" or gaudy.
* It comes with a sampler of 16 coffee...

Casablanca W-84 Wall Controls Controls, N/A

Complete waste of money!
I have/had a Casablanca fan with the Inteli-Touch controls, the fan worked perfectly for a few years then all of a sudden I could not turn the lights off with the wall control.

I emailed casablanca.... no help, I went to google and eventually determined that a control board in the fan went bad (a board you need in the fan for the Inteli-touch) so $100 later and my fan was up and running again. Well not even a year later it has happened again! I emailed casablanca yet again and they still were not willing to help me, I asked why my $600 fan already needed $200 in repairs and they stopped responding to my emails! They have the absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered, I took the fan down and replaced it with a $110 Harbor Breeze fan and a $35 Lutron Maestro remote. I used to think Casablanca made good fans, but after this experience I will never install another one of their products.
