Handy for small Cleanups
I got this for my daughter, who is in college. And I think it will be perfect for her to clean up small areas, small messes. It is also handy for people who just need to tidy up a bit between cleanings. I can't help but compare it though to my hand-held Dyson. The Dirt Devil wins of course, hands down, on PRICE. But the hand-held battery powered Dyson beats it by leaps and bounds on everything else.
What I found lacking in the Dirt Devil:
Awkard assembly to get it in stick (floor) form, which seemed very flimsy.
The fact that even hand-held, where I use these the most, it has to be plugged in.
It does lose suction, and when it does it can be a fire hazard.
When you dump out the dirt, the filter falls in the trash too, and you have to dig it out and clean off the junk off the filter, which is horrible for someone with dust allergies, pet fur allergies, etc. It sort of loses the advantage of having a cleaner that will dump out the dirt instead of using a...
Under powered
I've used this so far in full and hand-held mode. It was pretty good on my kitchen hard wood floor for picking up crumbs and other small pieces. Then I tried it in hand-held mode in my car. Again, it picked up all the bigger pieces, but didn't get the lint or hairs on the floor. I tried the same thing on my coat and again most of the lint remained. The small 3-in-1 is a good idea, but I think if this vacuum had just a little more power, it should have picked it up.
Handy and lightweight
Dirt Devil Vibe 3-1 Corded stick vaccum is very light weight and handy as you can easily carry it and switch from hardfloor to carpets. Very convenient for those light jobs when you dont need your regular heavy vacuum. Reasonably priced. Recommended.
