Oster OGZB1101 1.1 Cubic Feet Digital Microwave Oven, Black

Perfect - so far - at a good price
Obviously the full story won't be written until about a year from now. My first microwave oven cost very little and lasted ten years. The next one cost twice as much and last 3 years. The most recently deceased unit was an Emmerson with a lot of bells and whistles, but it worked for barely 10 months -- unacceptable.

This is a relatively barebones oven. I don't care. It does everything I need done. I have to poke a few more keys rather than doing most things with one key. My life is not so busy that a couple of extra seconds to punch extra numbers is going to impact my life negatively, so if this unit lasts a few years, I'll be more than satisfied.

The price was fair and it's a good looking microwave oven. It's got nice clean lines and it's roomy enough for a large dish. It fits easily on my over-crowded countertop. Time will tell the whole story, but so far, so good. It's exactly the same power rating as its predecessor -- intentionally so. At 1000 watts, I know...

Oster OGZB1101 Is Easy To Use & Cooks Effectively
I have enjoyed using this Oster microwave oven, partly because of the low price and also because it has done a great job cooking many types of food. The keypad is easy to push and operate, the glass carousel is a good size and the space for cooking is well laid out. It's not displeasing to look at either. At 1.1 cubic feet it is a decent sized unit and the price is refreshingly low.

Has performed flawlessly since we purchased it in September
I wanted to give this microwave a full 3 months of use before reviewing it. From past experience; I've discovered that I purchase something, give it a high review, only to find out that it fails shortly after reviewing it. Well; now that I've owned this for 3 months; I can say that I'm totally satisfied with its performance and have found it to operate flawlessly under all conditions. It's not a fancy microwave by any means, but it does get the job done. I've cooked and reheated a variety of foods and have found that it does an admirable job on all accounts. The touch-pad works very well and the overall size of the microwave is large enough for most items. I've occasionally had an issue with putting large square plates on the carousel. It will stop moving, due to the size and configuration of the plates. This is not a factor in judging the performance of the microwave, but rather a problem that would probably occur with all microwaves. Round plates work better on a carousel; that's...
