Metrokane Electric Rabbit Rechargeable Corkscrew with Built-in Foil Cutter (Black)

neat gadget that really works, even on plastic corks
We've wrecked so many wine openers, most don't stand up to the plastic corks.

Our initial problem-read the directions-is that there are two arrows at the top, up and down. Seems simple. You put the thing over the bottle & push the down arrow till the screw is through the cork.
What I didn't realize is you continue to push the down arrow, as that is what lifts the cork out of the bottle & into the machine.
After you take the opener off the bottle, THEN you push the up arrow to get the cork out of the gadget.

As with any rechargeable, you need to charge it prior to use-if it's a gift, label it "open me first!"

TERRIBLE!
I've used a number of wine openers across all styles and settled on an electric one. After a while, I got this opener as a gift and was excited to try it. (I emphasize that I have used electric openers before to set the stage that I understand how they work and this was not user error). On the second bottle of wine, the cork got stuck in the opener and it stopped working entirely. Neither the up nor down controls worked. When fully charged, this one doesn't seem very powerful and even the foil cutter is sub-par.

It looks neat, but it doesn't work. Do yourself a favor, go buy the cheapo Oster instead.

Not portable
Plan on leaving this plugged in most the time. Charge doesn't last too long and it struggles with the plastic corks.
