Don't waste your money & time
We purchased a GE Profile Microwave oven on 3/22/2008 from a local store and the microwave oven died within one week of the installation. We were not allowed to return the microwave to the store due to GE's Warranty Policy which mandates that a GE repair technician must determine if the microwave is repairable. If it is repairable, then they will force you to fix it. So after waiting for 1 week for a GE service technician to show up at our home, he determined that the "magnetron," the heart of the microwave, was dead and that he ordered another one and we need to wait for it to arrive and then reschedule a visit for him to repair it. We called GE to get their authority to allow us to return the microwave back to the store to either get our money back or return it for a new unit and they refused as per their policy. They obviously do not care about the consumer who obviously bought a lemon that died within 1 week's time. They make no exceptions. And we will make no exception in the...

Don't Buy a GE
This was my third in 4 years. Each time after the warrenty had expired the microwaves stopped working. No warning just stopped working. I had a sharp Microwave that worked for years and I gave it away when we bought our new house. After 17 months the first GE microwave, bought brand new with the house, broke down (could not power up). Called G.e. and they gave me a credit towards a new GE microwave. Bought a second GE and it broke down at about 20 months. It stopped heating. Called the company again and got another credit to buy towards another GE microwave. Just over a year and it also stopped working. I am not calling them again. I am going to use another brand. I expect a microwave to last for at least over 10 years. They have been making microwaves for so long, why can't they get it right. Stay away from a G.E. Microwave oven.

Don't buy a GE microwave--piece of junk!
We purchased this microwave less than a year ago. After only a month the opening latch would get stuck. We lived with that--it takes a little jiggling to pop out sometimes, but this week the glass window started popping off in a corner, and tonight it crashed to the floor. Looks like it was attached with sticky tape. I used to work for GE Appliance Park and used to have respect for their products. GE profile is supposed to be high quality. I will not purchase another GE appliance. This thing is a hunk of junk.
